Rayndance is a new brand concept set up to promote a culture of fair pay, equality and abundance in creative industries and ‘make it rayn’ for local artists.
A percentage of every purchase goes directly to the artist responsible for each design, providing a direct and continuous revenue stream which empowers them to keep on doing what they do best.
This is part of a wider, passionately held belief about the importance of artists, who in many industries are being starved out of the ability to create. The name derives from founder and musician Jamie Rayner, who, after learning that seemingly hugely successful artists were struggling to make ends meet (did you know that even Kate Nash has an OnlyFans to supplement her music career?), developed a passion and determination for reclaiming the economy of imagination.

Every item is screen-printed by local (Newquay) company The Printing Coop, who’s process is entirely chemical free, even down to their water-based inks. Clothing and materials are all organic and sourced only from ethical, fair trade companies.

Ria and I have crossed paths floating around Newquay for the past few years. We work together at Saunassa, which is where she showed me some stickers that she had designed. they were so cool I asked her to design a t-shirt immediately.

Ethan and I met working on the beaches of Newquay - him as an RNLI Lifeguard and myself as a Surf Coach. As well as strolling around topless and dropping in on my waves on his rescue board, he’s also a student of design at Falmouth University.
